Install the right software product on your PC and it becomes a good alternative for lots of things – a radio, a grand piano, or an electric guitar. Focusing on the last one, you need to know that you can practice and improve your guitar skills with MusicLab's RealRick. Install the software on your PC and you will have access to a virtual electric guitar that you can use as you see fit. Mind you, a guitar that has the unmistakable sound of a Rickenbacker electric guitar.

RealRick is available for Microsoft's Windows operating system. RealRick is also available for Apple’s Mac OS X. No matter which version you choose, the Windows or the OS X version, you will quickly get RealRick up and running on your PC or Mac. Please note that you will be installing a trial version that is free to use for an evaluation period of 30 days.

RealRick has a dark-themed interface that is good looking and quite easy to figure out. A quick look at said interface and you will rapidly figure things out. Before you get to access the interface, you will be presented with an “Initial Settings” prompt that asks you to pick an input MIDI port and choose the audio output settings. From RealRick’s user friendly interface you can choose between a 6-string or a 12-string guitar (6-string, 12-string A, 12-string B, 6-string stereo, 12-string A stereo/mono, 12-string B stereo/mono).

Focusing on the functionality, here’s a quick look at RealRick’s main features and functions: the unmistakable sound of a Rickenbacker electric guitar; use a 6- or a 12-string guitar; set the output volume; adjust the pitch and modulation; adjust the strum time, attack time, and release time; mixer and FX mixer; multi-channel layering technology; unique Floating Fret Position technology, Sound Humanize technology, Guitar Rhythm Pattern technology and other technologies that closely emulate live guitar sound and performance.

A few songs created by RealRick customers are showcased online here.

As previously mentioned, RealRick is free to use for a trial period of 30 days. It must be added that the trial version does not allow you to use the full range of cords.

Amazingly realistic results can be obtained with RealRick, MusicLab's virtual guitar instrument that features the unmistakable sound of a Rickenbacker electric guitar.
